i have a 90 civic and sometimes it will run and sometimes it wont even start but when it does run it runs like a champ i was thinking maybe loose rotor or bad ignition module does any one have any ideas or could anyone tell me how to tighten up the rotor on the distributor any thoughts or ideas would help ive done everything i could possibly think of

 

Have you done the main relay yet? Sometimes starting and sometimes not is very often that component. If the relay is not working you will not hear the fuel pump come on when you turn the key on but don't try to start. Also usually the check engine light will not go out after 2 seconds like it should when you turn the key on but don't start.

 

you have 2 posts of the exact same thing, pull your main relay, tkae it apart and resolder your bad connections on the circuit board.
