93 Civic EX fluctuating idle
 
Hi all i am scraching my head on this problem and want to get some out side prospective on it my 93 civic ex weather its cold or at operating temp revs betwen 1000-3000 in a smooth patern every time this happens weather its parked or if im driving and come to a stop it will start agin. here is a list of what i tryed allready.

map sensor
egr
plugs
plug wires
rotor
cap
check the puls going to injectors
cheked spark
checked for vacume leaks
checked timeing

might have done more but there all kind of running together right now lol but any help would be great.

can you adjust that sensor to where you can fix it w/o replacing it?

no you cant and i have found that no one has just the sensore. and when i called honda you have to buy the throtel body and sensore together cant just buy one or the other [:@]

thanks for the help i replaced the throtel body and TPS and that fixed the problem thanks nasty97ex

Sounds like it could be the FITV (fast idle thermo valve) located beneath the throttle body, probably not closing after warm up which in effect is causing a vacum leak, try removing it and giving it a bit of a clean. To test the FITV remove air filter pipe from throttle housing to find 2 holes in side housing before butterfly, get car to opperating temperature and cover up the bottom hole with your finger and if idle settles down then that is your problem.

I'd say it's the TPS, best way to find out is just un plug it while the car is idling.
