Exclamation 93 honda civic dies while driving...

I have a 93 Honda civic Cx that has a problem for the last couple of months...when driving it, the car will just shut off -- so it's something electrical. With this civic, the check engine light has to be off before the car will crank/start, and after it dies like it does, I have to wait 5-10 minutes until the light will turn off again, and then the car starts immediately. It is not "stalling" at all....just turns off - like it is dead. And it really only does it a lot after it is completely warmed up. We think it might be the distributor or a relay switch...do any of you Honda experts have any advice on what it could be? I would take to a Honda dealer to have the codes read, but I don't think it will make it there. If you have had a problem like this, I would appreciate any advice or recommendations on how to fix it. Thanks!

CEL delay in going out is either the main relay or the ECU. Usually if it is the main relay, the car may not always start, but once started it doesn't cut out while driving. It's easy enough to resolder the main relay, so do that first but if the stalling persists it is probably the ECU.
