got a 94 civic friday last guy swapped in a d16a6 si motor has auto trans car wont idle. is the ecm compatible? it idles while it is cold but it has a miss in it once it warms up it wont idle. if i unplug the iac while it idles it dies. is it the iac? thx for any help i dont know anything about hondas

you know thats a motor from the previous generation of civic or crx right?
and are you OBD0 or OBD1?
and what ecu are you using?

 

Fix the missing first.

You might be able to keep it running when warm by opening the air screw. The fact that it dies when you unplug the IACV suggests that the IACV is doing something, but maybe the engine just doesn't run right for some other reason.
