'95 civic ex fuse/light troubles
Hey everyone, having some trouble with my '95 civic ex so let me explain.
First off, the 10a fuse for the instrument lights/tail lights blows instantly as soon as I turn on the headlamps. I heard this may be a short through the turn signal switch but have no idea how to confirm that. Turn signals don"t work through the swtich, but flash when the hazards are on. Tail lights/dash lights don"t work either. Brake lights work fine.
Secondly, all my gauges just don't work anymore. Speedo, tach, temp, mileage counters are all out. This happened a few hours after all the trouble above.
I think my fuel guage is going out also but here's a lil background. I took out the injectors and cleaned them, put them back in and everything worked fine, even ran smoother. I put in some Gumout complete fuel system cleaner and filled the tank. When all my guages went out like I said above, my fuel guage seemed to still be working. But after driving only 16 miles it says im out of gas so I parked the car. I haven't confirmed that yet.
Any input on any of these problems would be great, thanks guys.

Blowing the tail light fuse is often a short in the wiring of an improperly installed aftermarket radio. Check the wires behind the radio. If you just acquired the car check the bulbs in the back to make sure they are the proper type and the wiring is OK.
The tail lights are not interconnected with the turn signals. There is a fuse for the turn signals and a different fuse for the hazard function. Also of course the key has to be on for the turn signals to blink, not so with the hazards. Check that the fuse gets power when the key is on. Both of the little test points on the top of the fuse should be live. After checking that, take the column cover off and find there is a 3 wire plug in the switch for the turn signals, and a larger one for the lights. Unplug the 3 wire plug and by jumping the wires you should be able to make it blink left and right. If so, the problem is the switch.
