Question 95 civic need a good mechanic

Hey im new here so HELLO and new to honda so im confused lol. I just bought a 95 civic with a b16 head from 99 civic si and b20 block. Both are suposed 2 be fully built but i have no idea. It has a apexi vtec controller and new ecu and all that stuff. I want to get it checked out by someone who really knows whats going on so they can tell me what is actually in the thing. Also i definately have a head gasket leak and im sure other **** needs to be played with. If anyone knows or is a good honda mechanic in the tampa/NPR area id appreciate the info.

heads dont say b16,b20,b18 and so on...... they have head codes, like for example pr-3. the only way to actually know if the motor is built is to take it apart and look.

hamorhead and I are both about 2-2.5 hours away. I don't have any hands-on experience with DOHC engines so it wouldn't really be a good idea to have me change the head gasket. There's a little more to it with a DOHC than a SOHC.

The only way to know what's in it is to take it apart. You kind of have to just take the guy's word for it... unless you really want to take it apart just to see what's inside... I know I wouldn't.

^Good idea. Something like a contract.

That way you can take him to court if you find out he lied.

Damn that sucks. Thats about all i know how 2 check. And is it a HUGE pain to take it apart? I think it might be worth it b.c if it is all stock i want to change it to make it what i want. I cant really have him write it up i already bought it for a great price. If its stock i wont be too dissapointed but it would be a huge difference in my wallet.

Look for numbers on the head. They're on the outside somewhere, I think above the block number place. By the way "head gasket leak" is car seller's code for "this engine is toast."
