Just wonderin'. Why in the first place did you removed the climate control assembly? Do you have other issues beside the lights? Its unlikely that all bulbs would be busted at the same time. You might have wiring issues.
As for your question of dis-assembly, 5 screws are visible. The 3 on the most bottom part holds the front panel together together with snap-on clips on the top. You will have to pull out the speed switch and heater control handles.Remove also the selector buttons. Use a flat head screw driver to pry out the buttons.(there's a slot at the bottom of the buttons.) Check for anything that looks bad on the board, diodes, resistors etc.

it was just a reference pic from google, I haven't began disassembling mine yet.
do you think it might be a blown fuse?
I mean the lights button lights do work, just not the icons. I couldn't locate the fuse so I don't know what to check.
Thanks for the info.

After someone has been driving for years with the dimmer turned all the way up, it's common for all the bulbs to have burned out. The bulbs for the heater panel are simply wired in parallel with the ones on the instrument cluster.
