Default 97 DX: What are these hoses?

I have 2 corroded hoses. At one end, one attaches to the engine block cover, and the other right below the engine block cover. The other ends both attach to the throttle body. Check out the pic:

Well, okay, maybe it's a stupid question. The best guess is that they are air hoses, right? But if that's the case, why would they corrode the way they did?

They look to mea bit like the two hoses that carry coolent through the idle air control valve.

Its hard to tell, a overall picture of your engine bay with the hoses highlighted would be better. But from what I see..im guessing coolent.

Okay, my bad. It turns out that the two hoses contain coolant. They both run into 2 different hoses and not the engine block. They are attached to the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve which is attached to the throttle body. I still can't find direct references to their exact name.
