Default 98 Honda civic LX Transmission slipping

Hi all,

Tranny for my honda civic(110,000 miles) started slipping a week ago so i decided to get it replaced with a used tranny from used parts store. i found one which was recently taken off from a 99 civic EX and has only 70,000 miles on it. my question is would a tranny from 99 civic EX fit my 98 civic LX base model engine?

if any one can suggest a good place to acquire a used tranny in chicago would be appreciated. i am new to these issues with my honda any word of caution i should watch out for would also be appreciated.

reagrds,

J

The transmission should work just fine. Are you doing the install yourself?
