99 civic si d16y8 alternator help

Default 99 civic si d16y8 alternator help

Hello guys I need some help changing all my belts and my alternator belt including the alternator. If anyone can help out please post here or pm me for my phone # to help. and if I can use a larger alternator.

You must disconnect the battery first, as the large wire leading to the terminal bolt on the alternator is always live even with the key off.

Replacement is straightforward bolt on, however it is a tight fit. To get the alternator out of the car you will need to lift the car so the left front wheel is not supporting any weight. If you have the car on the ground or up on ramps, the axle will be in the way of removing the alternator.

ive always just took my intake piping off and took alternator behind intake mani and out where the intake pipe was, its 100x easier

when i took mine out it wouldn't fit behind the intake manifold it had to be lifted up in the air like mk378 said and had to be taken out from the bottom only and good luck getting a bigger one in. irraggi alts makes some putting out more or you can have your stock one "cranked" by a local shop
