Default 99 civic si timing belt slipped ... Help

My 99 civic si timing belt has slipped.

I'm pretty sure my valves are toast. My mileage is 190K.

Should I consider:

- rebuilding it?

- swapping the engine?

- getting rid of it? but how?

I'm not a mechanic, so I'm not sure how to get the best value.

Unfortunately, I don't have a lot time nor tools on hand.

Someone offered me $1500. Is this a decent offer?

If its a SI, I would either get it rebuild or the engine replace. 1500 hundred - it depends on the overall shape of the car.

1,500....for what, the whole car, or to fix it?

- Apart from engine, everything else is in good condition (remember, 190K)

Situation update:
- A mechanic estimated $1500 to rebuild it
- A buddy offered $1500 to buy it
- Another buddy offered to trade for a 93 mitsubishi eclipse in really good shape (Mileage: 100K)

Any rebuilding or swapping engine success without too much follow up problems?

let a shop rebuild/swap it, I wouldn't get rid of it if the car is in good shape.

Did you compression test the cylinders? Once in a while, the engine is spared damage when the timing belt slips.

Have them rebuild it. Its a perfect chance to make it better than it was before.

Sad news. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to deal with rebuilding or swapping.

So, I sold her ($1500).
