99 EX Coupe door lock problem
Hi All,
New to HONDAS, just purchased 99 ex coupe and the power locks dont work. I have replaced both fuses for this and still nothing. Doors wont lock using the lock/unlock switch inside on drivers door. Locking drivers door with key outside works, passenger door works but is real stiff. Can anyone help me out with this? It has keyless entry and horn and lights all work when hitting buttons. Thanks in advanced.

I think if you do a search on this forum, you should find some examples. The good news about the driver's door is that it works with you key so mechanically, the locking mechanism is working. This leads me to believe that either 1, your switch in the driver's door is malfunctioning and/or 2. your door lock actuator is malfunctioning.
Go to the link in my signature and download the 96-00 service manual. it should give you some diagnostics in how to determine what part of the system is busted.
Your passenger door locks mechanism might just need some grease to make it move easier.

Is there enough room to get my hand inside door or is it easily accessible, and which would you replace first. Im not mechanically inclined as to testing switches etc, would just go ahead and replace. Thanks for the help.
bflo99ex, if you download the service manual (follow my 1st post), you should get a better idea of what is involved. it's not easy but it's not impossible either. if you prefer to replace items, then that's your perogative. please post back if you decide to go with the repair yourself.
