Default ABS problem

2000 civic si, all stock. when I start the car, the ABS light comes on for bulb check, then goes out. but it is easy to lock it up, and i mean easy. there is no pulsing in the pedal (locked it on the snow to test and got nothing) and it locks up easy even on dry pavement. I almost wrecked the other day, big blue cloud of tire smoke floated past me after I got it stopped. last place to touch the brakes was brakes plus (not me, the previous owner took it there), and the brakes started squeeking about a week after the 90 day warranty. could they have messed something up in the ABS, or are honda's really picky about what pads you use? any advice is much appeciated.

Default RE: ABS problem

no ideas? any thoughts on the pedal feel? should it pulse like some ABS cars do, or not? I have a 94 nissan pathfinder with ABS, but it is only on the rear and there is no pulse in the pedal, so I wonder if I should feel that in the civic or not.
