Default acceleration acting up

when i accelerate in my 98 civic ex it seems like its a bull getting to speed. it will stop..seem like falling back and then go...over and over again??? real small give outs

Is the CEL ON?

Try a basic tune up (replace plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and fuel filter and check the ignition timing).

You also may want to have the alternator checked.

It is in the gauge assembly. Normally, the CEL turns ON for 2 seconds when you first start the car and then turns OFF if no problems with sensors are detected.
