Default Acceleration knock

My 97 1.5i vetc makes a knocking sound when I'm pulling away, It's not big end (Ive had that checked)
I'm wandering if Ignition knock may be the problem. The question I have is;

can you hear Ignition knock?
could this be caused by a faulty knock sensor?
can I disconnect the knock sensor to check this?

thanks all,

Gavski

fill it with super unleaded fuel AND octane booster or a fuel injector cleaner.......maybe theres some grit u just need to burn away. Maybe even clean ur intake manifold with that spray ****. Those 2 suggestions are under 30$ combined.....so its DEF worth a shot.

Man I am still new at this I posted you a long reply and all that went through was that smiley face lol. I had this problem happen on a friend of mines car in the fall. Keep in mind it wasn't a honda but cars are all the same Anyways what happened was when he was taking corners he mostly heard this knocking sound. What it ended up being was this little metal arm that broke and as he took corners and it swong it created the knocking sound. If you could get your car up on a hoist and take a look it should be closer to the rear of the car. This part is small but very expensive to fix so I would suggest trying to order the part yourself when you have got the cash and then paying the best price for labour.

Acceleration-only knocks are never suspension-related... A valve adjustment and timing revamp will most likely take care of your problem.

Heh Gvaski,
Did you fix the problem with the knock/pinging?
I've got the same problem.
What did you do?

does it kind of jolt you when it knocks? Because when I'm making turns I hear a little thump noise and it jolts me a little bit..nothing too serious but I hear a little bump noise.
