Default Acceleration Prob and CV Boot too

Ok so I noticed the driver side cv boot is torn and im about to get that fixed but I had noticed before that that anytime I would accelerate I'd hear somewhat of a rattle/ticking sound. It's only when accelerating never at idle or braking. ANy chance the 2 are related (the cv boot and acc issue)?

On a side note...Is there any way to replace a cv boot while its still on the car? Its a pain removing and repairing/replacing

If you're hearing noise from it, the joint has been ruined by getting dirt in it from the bad boot. Thus the axle needs to be replaced anyway. Bad outer joints usually sound worse when turning sharply while accelerating than driving straight.

Ticking while accelerating:
-Check the ignition timing with a timing gun.
-Buy gas at different gas station.
-Adjust the valve clearance.

Never heard any noise when turning only when going straight. And its not like completely torn just a small little spot but its best to replace now.

I'll be checking the timing soon.
Same with gas from different places.
If timing is right then I'll be checking valves
