Ah F*CK
AC compressor?
sounds like that dood is trying to take you for a ride.
go to the junkyard or search online in forums for a used compressor and install it yourself with a mechanically inclined friend or relative.

fo sho.....a compressor should not be 1500 with or without labor.... im pretty sure the A/C compressor isnt even that hard to swap....if im thinking correctly its right on the front and out of the way for the most part....

call around local junkyards or go online and search. depending on how old your car is, you can possibly get all the stuff used for a few hundred bucks and install it yourself.
there are certain online junkyard sites that will search a nationwide database for used parts for almost every make and model of car.

he "wants" and "what needs" to be replaced are two different things.
i doubt very seriously, that every one of those parts failed. it may be worth your time to get a second opinion.
I'm betting the compressor or condensor broke, but not both.
Just remember that your AC is filled with compressed refrigerant...not the greatest stuff to inhale, or to have spray out under pressure into your skin or face. So if you ARE going to swap the parts, keep that in mind - along with the fact that you'll have to go to a shop to get the system recharged anyway.
