and
the damn thing stays pegged in green... idle, wot, etc.
its an autometer sportcomp gauge
red is power
black is ground
purple runs to the o2 sensor wire in the ecu
am i missing something?

RE: air/fuel gauge
Run a wideband, or else its just a little circle filled with blinky lights...
Better yet, you could pick up a string of christmas lights with the variable speeds and intermittance. It'd be about as accurate as a narrowband

RE: air/fuel gauge
shortband a/f? Dont trust it anyway. That thing is gonna jump around no matter what. If you want a trustworthy one get a wideband (although unless you've got some major mods, more than just I/H/E, i think the $200+ could be better spent)
EDIT: Tony beat me to it....my bad

RE: air/fuel gauge
umm....sounds like you hooked it up to the wrong wire on your o2 sensor. write autometer and they will tell you exactly what wire to hook it too. also, make sure you soldered it. crimps dont give a good enough connection when ull dealling with literally milliwatts of electricity. or...like they said above, your running really rich

RE: air/fuel gauge
it's on the right wire(white/red)in the ecu, but i didnt solder it
it is running rich, but damn, not the whole time
i can rebuild a motor drunk and blindfolded, but when it comes to electrical work, im about as smart as a brick
this is what i did...
