What is the job of the air sensor that plugs into the CAI, and would I know if it wasn't connected properly, and/or not working?

it monitors intake air temp -- colder air = more fuel --hotter = lean fuel--- if it wasnt working or hooked up right your check engine light would come on

If he is talking about the MAF, it monitors air flow (MASS AIR FLOW = MAF), and yes the CEL would come on.

its not a MAF, its an IAT sensor, monitors IAT = intake air temperature

it's called the TA sensor not the mass air flow or intake air temp dont know what it stands but thats what it is. Don't believe bite me or you can just call a dealrship and ask
