Airbag Removal
Off the top of my head, the first thing I would try is to take the glove box apart and see if you can reach the wires and plug, unplug it and try to push the air bag out from the bottom. If you can't reach the wires you are gonna need to take the dash apart. Another thing you may want to consider is looking up the wiring diagram outta a Chilton or Haynes manual and DON'T cut any wire. Oh yeah, MAKE SURE the battery is disconnected before you do anything with the airbag system.
Disclaimer: I have not done this before and don't particularly advise of it, but I have thought about attempting the same thing those would be the first things I would try.

First off, think about whether you NEED to remove your airbag. If you do for some reason, I can help ya. The rims and the body style look like my '96 HX so I'm assuming it is at least a '96 since I didn't see you post anything in the New Members Area. Anyway:
[ul][*] You DO have to take out the glovebox to do it right.[*]Once that is removed, there are a couple of little brackets that need to be removed.[*] Before you continue to the next step, find the connection for the SRS (it's gonna be yellow) and disconnect it. To do this right without having a bright SRS warning light on your instrument panel, you're gonna have to disconnect the battery. And if you're taking the airbag out forever, you'll have to clip that SRS warning light, and I can't guarantee that the driver's airbag will work if you leave the pax one out. [*]The airbag itself is bolted in three spots (I think it's 3) and after that you can push the whole assembly up and out the top of the dashboard. It's gonna be a tight fit, cuz the airbag is hooked to the dash piece (the piece that says SRS or airbag or whatever) by a bunch of little hooks.[*]After you get it out, you can unhook the airbag from the plastic dash piece and reinstall the dash piece or do whatever it was you had planned.
[/ul]
My best advice is to get a Chilton's or Haynes manual cuz they have a more detailed explanation, but this is mine.
