thanks for all the responses, thanks RonJ for the helpful diagram. ok so heres what i got, if i check bl/yl with gr/bk i have my 5v but when i check red center wire with ground i have 4.931 closed and 9.595 open. obviously this is way off so my question is do i need to test this when the vehicle is at operating temp or doesnt matter? also im not sure what to adjust to calibrate this. i see a copper flathead lookin screw that is recessed on top of the throttle body if thats it. lemme know thanks again

Calibration of the TPS is measured from the pins of the sensor itself or at the appropriate output wires of ECU (engine not running). The test requires the reference 5V input, and you measure the sensor's output voltage at closed versus open. I don't have experience calibrating the TPS, but my understanding is that the rivet screw holding it in position on the throttle body must be loosened so that the TPS can be repositioned until you obtain proper output voltages at closed throttle and WOT.

As mk wisely suggests, it may be easier to simply swap throttle bodies, if you verify that the old one is already properly calibrated.
