Anyone replace the heater core?

Anyone replace the heater core?
I have coolant leaking on the passenger side of a 1992 Civic LX, so I think the heater core is bad. The factory service manual says to remove the dashboard, remove the heater duct and remove the steering column bracket in order to remove the heater assembly. Does anyone know if I can do this with conventional tools?
I used to work on a Dodge Challenger and it was relatively easy to replace stuff because there was room to work! With these damn Civics, I can barely get my arms and hands in the little nooks and crannies of the engine compartment.
