so on day 2 on the 92 si hatch, i pulled the loose axle from the transmission to find the tip of the knuckle shaft was rounded off an the c-clip was all mangley-janked. re-installed a new knuckle thing to find it doesnt look like it goes in all the way, but i just came back from driving it around, seems to be fine.. until the next red light or what?? its got the tinyest gap between where the axle seal sit's in the face of the knuckle an the seal in the tranny.

 

it does have a tiny gap, as long it don't leak and and when making few full turns both way and doesn't pop out.. you installed it correctly.. Yay..!!

 

Don't start new threads about the same problem. If you can't pull it out by hand it's probably OK.
