Question B16B axle trouble, need help

So I'm into weekend number 2 of my b16b swap into my 2000 honda civic ex, and i read online i needed new axles. I read you needed the ones from an si with abs rings. I bought those and went to put them on, but the cv joint is too big and bumps against the bell housing, preventing me from inserting the drivers side axle into the tranny. I have the s4c LSD transmission. Am i missing something? The tranny is female and my axle is male, it seems like everything should be okay, but something is obviously not working. Any advice?
