Default Battery light blinking / on

2 years ago the alternator died (01 civic ex) I replaced it, and the battery. All was fine for awhile, then at low rpm (idle) the light would flash.Sometimes if you stepped on it when you took off the light would also flash fast around 4000-5500rpm, but not between idle and 4000. I had the car in the shop for another problem and they noticed it blinking and replaced the ELD. That didn't correct the problem, and they said it had low alternator output, so after two years, it got another alternator.

Last night I had it completed, and took it out for a spin. I noticed the lights were brighter, no battery light, etc. Today I drive in to work, 30 miles down the highway and stop on the off ramp, it blinked. get to work, no blink. turn on the ac, pegged the blower fan, rear window defroster...radio on and what not, no bat light. I shut that stuff off, and the damn light came on and stayed on.

I've not checked the battery voltage. I'm now afraid to drive the damn thing anywhere in fear of getting stranded.

Any advice to offer? It has a new ELD and a new alternator. Belts are tight. I also noticed the ground wire from the battery, connects to some tab thing that is quite rusted. Not sure what it is called or if I can get a new one from an auto parts store?

thanks

Default RE: Battery light blinking / on

My 2002 Civic battery light flashes quickly until the car gets warmed up. It seems to stop after driving at highway speeds for about 15 minutes. Car was jump started recently and had battery replaced. Please help.

Did you ever figure out the issue? I’m dealing with the same issue now. Light would flicker but stays on now. Replaced the battery and alternator with no solution.
