Default Black Smoke at VTEC?

In my 98 EX I have a stock 2000 B16A. When I punch the gas at get high rpm's and when theVtec kicks in it will blow black greyish smoke. I am assuming it is running rich. Also the inside of the rear tail pipe is black.

I do have a check engine light on due to the secondary 02 sensor not functioning due to the wires before it getting fried for some reason. Can the secondary 02 sensor not functioning cause theengine to run rich? or may it just need a tune-up or injector cleaner?

I have no idea. Its a 2000 B16A w/ 40,000 original miles. I am pretty sure it is just running rich.

That did cross my mind, although I thoughtall the secondary o2 sensor does is measure the catalyst.
