Default Blown Struts!!!

So I blew one of the rear struts on my '97 DX. Turns out the guy that had the car before me just cut the springs to lower it, instead of doing it properly. I pulled out of my driveway the other day and the fricken strut blew. Money is an issue, but I'm just wondering if it would be more cost effective to go with a Eibach Sport System, springs, struts, and dampers. (it's a kit) or just put new struts in. Friend of mine said I'd probably just continue to blow struts (with the cut springs) so I should just do the whole thing. Here's the kit.

If anyone is partin' somethin out that would be sweet, thanx

I'll second your friend's opinion. Of course the strut is just going to blow again unless you get rid of those cut springs. But the key to not bottoming the strut is the rubber bumper on the shaft, you need to have those even if you have stock springs. If you don't have a lot of money right now and need to get the car going again buy a pair of stock ones from a junkyard.
