bottom end torque

advance the ignition timing to 18* BTDC. then run premium gas, dont worry, your mileage will pay for it.
Has anyone else tried this? I live in l.a. and am in high school, if your from around here gas prices aren't that cheap. So if this really does provide for a significant increase in low end torque, let me know.

it'll be fine. the factory specs are actually 16* +/-2*, so 18* is fine. any more than that and you hit the point of diminishing returns (you lose more than you gain)

yes, premium will not give you power. unless you do something else to take advantage of the detonation resistance of the higher octane. i.e., forced induction, higher compression, N2O, or advancing the timing. its pretty obvious which ones easier. i originally got the advice from Oscar Jackson, of Jackson Racing. it was an article he wrote in Velocity. so take it as you want.
