can i use my ecu with b18???
i just removed a b18 from a 93 civic and im going to put it in my 98 civic but i thought that you had to use a different computer to run a different motor, but the car was i removed the motor from was using the stock computer. Can i use my computer from my 98 civic ex with the b18??? thanks
i already searched this and found nothing, i thought that i would have to get a new computer but the 93 civic was using the stock computer with the b18?????
Most likely not man. That b18 is odb2. The 93 civic is either using an integra ecu or a harness to plug that b18 into the civic's older ecu. Also running a civic ecu with a larger integra motor is a really bad idea. A stock ecu is programmed by the factory to give the right amount of air/fuel to the motor it's designed for. It won't be able to compensate enough air/fuel to properly run a larger motor so you wont see the b18's potentialand also risk running too lean or too rich.
But if you tuned if afterwards it then I see no problem with your setup.
What is the code on the ecu from the 93?Does that B18 have a vtec head (is it vtec or non-vtec)?

mxs is right... and that new guy up there is very wrong... obd2 started in 96.. which means that the 1.8 engine would have to be from a 96 or higher integra...
most likely due to the ability to find b18b/a and early model c engines.. its probably obd1.. which means that depending on the ecu u could run it...
p28 and p72 are good ecus for b18s... well at least for gs-r.s but as long as the wires are right you can do just about anything with hondas
.. thats why k series engines are soo easy to swap
