Default Can't find gas gauge bulb on my 98 Civic

The gas gauge bulb is out most of the time. I don't think I have a blown fuse because sometimes when I hit a bump or when I've been driving for a long time, the light comes on. I tried to find it but after taking half the dash off, I was afraid of making matters worse. Can you please tell me how to find this thing?

Thanks much

If all the lights but that one work, it's a bad bulb or a loose socket. Take the dash trim off, unscrew the screws at the sides and remove the whole instrument cluster from the car (pull it out enough to unplug the wires, then remove). The bulbs are installed from the back with the twist out sockets.

Thank you mk378. I took your suggestion. It's so small in there you have to be the size of a 5 year old to get to it. I wiggled some wires but was afraid I would make matters worse. I guess though that whatever I did must have worked. All lights work now!
