Things to try:

Have the igniter unit in the distributor tested.

Check the mechanical and ignition timing.

Clean the IACV.

Measure the fuel pressure.

thanks for the info. you were right. ignition control module failed a threshhold test whatever the hell that is lol. is their a way to test em to see if theyre working, testing continuity on terminals? voltage or ohm ratings?

RONJ thanks alot for your help bro. that was it, i guess when i facked up my ignition coil it took the ignition control module hostage with it lol. yeah i put a new one in. 65 bucks was a pain in the *** for that little dumbass part. aint their schematics to make one? i kno electrical. but **** that was it. it kinda idled a little low a few times but it survived 2 trips around the block. i was pretty confident then, as compared to last time, died on me 3 times halfassed around the block. but yeah i should try cleaning the iacv and probably taking off the cylinder head and replace the gaskets and ****. who knows when the last moron did it. may have to do the timing belt too because it looked like i seen a lil bit of grease on it. but you da man ronj. thanks to you and everyone else who poked their nose in here and tried to help. i was kinda scared driving it and getting stranded but it went about 12 miles today without giving me any problems whatsover, alt lite still comes on but not as much, i cleaned the slip rings in the alternator before i slapped it back together, but the voltage regulator looks like its a pain in the *** to remove cuz its a mitsubishi alt. but yeah the brushes were good i think the voltage reg is going to shyt

new update. car still runs good. ya got it ronj. my dumbarse friend i tried to get help from was askin me to do compression tests and i gotta change the head gasket and all that shyt. tear off the cylinder head and all that man. it ran just fine the night it broke down. then it just died like it was all sudden. their were no symptoms that it was pretty soon to failure. an hour before that i ran all over denver to pick up 2 friends and i was flyin on the highways. my dumbarse just rolled it back a little and didnt give it enuff gas and it lurched back and died. tried to restart it and nothing, tore off the dist cap and cleaned the contacts and seen one carbon contact look like it was destroyed. looks like a cylinder with dark grey shiny rock. looks like someone took a nail to it and hit it a few times. like it exploded. the only thing left on the contact was the outer shell ring connected to the spring :s. and now that i think back now i realize how damn stupid i am. my lazyness and carelessness. 21 dollars woulda saved me a 125 dollar problem "i just got this ignition coil and ignition control module not too long ago and spent 125 on both of em. but when my dumbarse had the cash i didnt get a new cap and rotor". and those parts destroyed 2 near new parts. whats the typical life of a ignition coil and ignition control module? i mean the typical life of a ignition coil and module under NEW conditions where everything has been started off (icm/dist cap/rotor/ignition coil/plugs)

Glad to hear your car is running. The coil and ICM generally should be replaced every ~150K miles.
