you dont need, the vtec wire harness, just run the 2 wires yourself to the ecu, i have extra ecu pins in my for sale thread, driving with the valve like that is real bad, and may cause more damage. i may be able to get the solnoid 4 u and the vtec plugs also, i havent come across and p28 ecu's yet, but you can put that head on and drive it, and just when you get the ecu swap ecu's. your stock ecu will do for now, let me know if you want me to get the parts. i can ship them to ya.

what head do you have? the d16z6?

Change the head ASAP or quit driving until you do. If you insist on driving with a bad valve and dead cylinder, disconnect the fuel injector for that cylinder. That might reduce the damage that can be done to the bottom half of the engine and the catalytic converter.

Like '94 said you can put the head on now and not hook up the VTEC, it will work like your DX was stock -- just no VTEC. You do need to have a solenoid bolted to the head to stop oil from coming out.

Running the car with a burnt valve is not "catastorphic" but you can get alot of fuel into your oil, and also be totally gutless if the cylinder is completely dead. As for the bump, did you do a wiggle test on everything? and how did your car "Die" did it sputter? slowly die? or just "Turn off"? it could be as simple as a coil plug coming undone slightly, so it would be a good idea just to check all of your electrical connectors. Hope thats any help, but knowing just how it died would be benificial.

i can cut the harness plugs u need to plug into the vtec solnoind, and the ecu pins, and i can get the vtec solnoid, ill goto the junkyard tues, and ill let ya know how much, i cant monday cause its gonna rain all day here.

all you gotta do is bolt the solnoid to the head then plug the plugs up and run 2 wires to the ecu, then when you do get your vtec ecu just swap ecu's and everything should work right.
