Default Car won't shift

Hello, I have been reading the forum for a couple weeks now, but haven't found my problem. So i decided to register and post. I have a 2004 Civic Si, with 60,000 miles. I drove to Indianapolis from Rochester, NY, and on my way back, I tried shifting down from 5th, but the shifter would not move. I came to a stop at the nearest gas station, where I turned my car off. When the car is off, I can shift into any gear, and start my car and run in that gear, but I cannot change gears when the car is on. My car has sat for 3 weeks as I have tried determining the problem. Any suggestions?

Does the clutch work? In particular, can you push the clutch pedal down and have the car stopped in gear with the engine running?

Default Clutch

The clutch will work enough to keep me from rolling forward or backwards in reverse. It does grind though(didn't start until after the problem first occurred). I am currently in the process of replacing the clutch, but I am fearful that it is not the only problem.

If the clutch drags at all, as it sounds like it does, it will be very hard to shift into gears with the engine running. Before taking the clutch itself apart, check the fluid level in the hydraulic system.

Just so that everyone knows, the problem was that a spring broke on my clutch(I don't drive the car hard, so I don't know how that happened). The spring was then locking into the flywheel, which wouldnt allow me to shift my car while it was on and spinning.
