Car wont start?
So i went and got a ignitor earlier, got it in and slapped it all back together. Tried to start her and stillnothing just turns over[:@]Any body know where the main relayis on a 99?If any one can help me out that would be sweet....
It is very expensive to replace parts without first pinpointing the problem. Save $$$ by first determining whether you can hear the fuel pump priming and whether you see spark at the plugs.
I,ve done checked the fuel pump and replaced the fuel filter... I can here the fuel pump turn on... But uh thanks for the pic... Any body know whata main relayruns? I tried to get one at the junk yard the other day and got denied... Dude said he dont sell relays or some bull...
Yeah it primes took the injectors out and watched um spray... huh i wonder wtf it can be its kinda gettin annoyin pushin the batch every day... Pretty sure shes gettin spark, pretty much redid the whole igniton system... Went to the auto parts store and asked one of my buddies about it told him my situation and he said its the gremlins... lol... I wish it was that simple... Oh yeah, pry shoulda mentioned this earlier but the car burns a lot of oil like alot couple quarts every other day... Been tryin to get a compression tester to check it out... But could this be a facter, or no?
thats on hell of an oil consumption. oil fouled plugs wont keep it from starting but it doesnt help. are you sure its burning it or is it leaking it. a couple of quarts every other day says to me internal failer, like a or several broken rings, but if you're burning it there would be one nice big cloud of blue smoke comming out of your exhaust. but anyway back on topic. if the engine cranks and you know you have fuel, that means you have no spark. just because you replaced the parts doesnt always mean that they are good working parts. i bought a brand new alternator for a car and had to take it back and exchange it 3 times because they didnt work. but like they said. start at the plugs and work back. use a spark tester and check each wire. if nothing move to the cap. check for voltage there and inspect cap for cracks. if nothing there make sure the rotor isnt bent or broken. while you're in there check the coil and the coil ground. any way you get the point. once you figure out the problem through a process of elimination you can buy the appropriate part instead of wasting your money. my bet is either a loose or missing coil ground or a cracked cap. but work it from the plugs back. wouldnt hurt to check and clean the plugs since you got the wires off.
So i got it finally
Went and got a diagnastics test and had all four cylinders miss firing, random miss fire, p1399 and p0170- Fuel trim (bank1)... After doing a bunch of research ran across some one with similarproblems same codes and what not... Sothe answer to all my damn head aches and problemsWAS a simple valve adjustment... So i adjusted um 20mm on the intake side and 25mm on the exhaust side... Put her alll back together and igot to admit i was kinda scared to try and start it from how much i had adjustedthem... Ifinally said f#$% it and turned it over, like half a crank she fires right up, yeah.... So all in all i wouldpreferpeople to give it a look, if they have the problems i've had... Thanks for all the help...
