I am in the market for a Honda Civic( maybe hybrid). However I need a vehicle that will be able to handle a small trailer hitch mounted cargo carrier. The carrier weight is about 50 lbs., and mounts on a class 1 hitch which I would need to install.

Most posts I have read says not to tow with a Civic. However would it be able to handle a cargo carrier?? Max weight of cargo less than 300 lbs .

Also would this be too much for the hybrid Civic to handle?
