Default Civic 2007 compression loss

I have a 2007 Honda Civic LX, 7000 miles, while I'm driving I have the feeling that there is a compression loss (about 20-25% less than usual) the car is accelerating slower and it's hesitating. the engine sounds cranky and heavier. also sometimes I have problem starting the car when the engine is cold, it starts from the second time but it sounds like choking...
There are no trouble codes, no check engine light came out …
the gas mileage is getting worse. it used to be about 30mpg (city) now is about 22-25, which is far below normal...

I took the car to Honda dealer and after 1 day they told me that the car is OK and there is nothing unusual...which I don't believe...

I have no idea what's going on. I took the car for oil change after the first 3500 miles. I tried different types of gasoline (87, 89, 93) from different gas-stations but the car is behaving the same way so I don’t think it’s a gasoline issue.
I was suspecting blown head gasket but the engine is not overheating and there is now white smoke from the exhaust pipe.

Any ideas what may be wrong? Any suggestions ?[/align]

Yeah,, take it to the dealer again ,insist to have the service mamager go on a test drive with you and have him compare your car to a similar car they have on the lot .

Default RE: Civic 2007 compression loss

I did exactly the same thing. A month ago first I went to a different Honda dealer and explained the problem to the manager, he said that there is no “check engine” trouble code and there is nothing to do. Then I started to argue and finally he send one of the mechanics so I can drive my car with him and show him my complaints…the car was acting as usual – slow acceleration, less power, heavier sound from the engine, but the guy said that there is nothing unusual for him. He was king of ignorant…
Then back in the dealership the manager said that there’s nothing they can do…finally they offered me to test drive brand with the mechanic new Civic LX 2008, which is the same as 2007… I could easily find the difference between how the two cars were behaving on the road…but mechanic with me was behaving just like a passenger…
Back at the dealership I explained the difference between my car and the new one but the manager again said that they can’t do anything if there is no “check engine light” on the dash board…he checked for trouble codes – nothing.
It’s stupid if I have to wait until the check engine comes up.
Can I take the car and ask them for compression test and leak-down test?
Is there any way I can be sure that there is nothing wrong with the engine, cracks or whatever?
There are no visible leaks on the engine…
