CIVIC 95 DX DISTRIBUTOR
I need to remove the distributor on my 95 civic DX.
I have to replace the “O “ring.
What would be the precaution for removal? Do I have to make sure my engine is in TDC before I remove it ?
Where can I get the “O “ring for it?
Please advice,
Thank you

RE: CIVIC 95 DX DISTRIBUTOR
When i replaced the O ring on mine i could only find it at the honda dealership. It was a two dollar part. but they're the only place that had it. all you have to do is:
1. disconnect the battery
2. take the distributor cap off the DIzzy
3. remove the three bolts that fasten the distributor to the head.
4. take a screwdriver and pry off the old o-ring (mine cracked into two pieces and fell off)
5. put new one back on
6. place dizzy back onto head.
7. replace bolts but leave them loose.
8. replace the cap
9. hook battery back up.
You need two ppl now.
10. Start the car. If it will not start spin the dizzy I believe counterclockwise as looking at it to advance the timing
11. try to start again. It should start.
12. advance timing to desired level
13. tighten screws
14. Drive on
Now to do this right you really need to know what you're doing when messing with the timing on a vehicle.

RE: CIVIC 95 DX DISTRIBUTOR
Thanks for the advise.
I have done this before, When I replaced the Timing Belt in My Toyota Supra turbo, I Had to set the timing back, I also did in My Corolla back in 92, I replaced the O ring on the Distributor.
I hope Hondas do not need to disable spark advance like most Toyotas do.
What is the factory setting for timing? 10 degrees BTDC?
Thanks folks
