Default Civic HX stock Muffler Inlet = only 1.5"???

If I get like a N1 Muffler for my '97Civic HX, how will it fit if the inlet size is 2.5"and the inlet size on my stock muffler is only1.5"? How will I be able to weld two pipes together that are two different sizes? Is this how it is supposed to be?

a muffler shop can bend/stretch a pipe to make up the difference, you'll be all set (should be prolly $25)

ok well, what if I got like a Catback instead....the piping would still be 2.5" were as the stock piping is 1.5"....talkin about the bolt on part. So, how would u bolt on a 2.5" pipe to a 1.5" pipe?

If you're bolting it on yourself, any parts store should have adapters that will convert the 1.5" pipe to 2.5" inlet. If you go with a catback kit, it will simply bolt on to the cat flange and of course it replace all the pipes from there back with new ones so you don't have to connect to any old 1.5" pipe at all..

youre going to get what you pay for. Maybe bad fitment, but definitely bad sound. So raspy, and it will be even raspier after 100 miles.

Save up the bit more and go Maganflow or Megan, or even Apexi or Greddy, you'll love it

And here is a video clip of this same model Catback "N1 Extreme". It sounds great in my opinion.....

What do you think?

Heres my situation.....my stock muffler came unwelded at the inlet. The car is really load now. Basically, because of this I am running my car with no muffler cause the exhaust isnt even getting to the muffler, its excaping out the back by the inlet. But anyways, I've been wanting to get a catback and now have an excuse to get one. : )I just want to make sure that I make the right choice. I dont need a monsterous catback that gives alot of horsepower gain or performance gain. I just want one that sounds decent and that fixes my problem.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO! buying a catback is only going to cause more headaches then fun, it will have poor fitman, poor quality, it will sound like ****, just save your money and get something good, like APEXi, RS*R, Tanabe, DC Sports, Megan racing. ect ect
