Hello everyone,

I purchased a 2009 Honda Civic LX Couple last month. It has low miles (11K) and I love the car.

Before I ask the simple technical questions, there is an issue with the location of the car. The owner purchased it in US and brought it to Germany where I purchased it. The car has all American specs. When I called the local Honda dealership they said they do maintain American Civics. The cost however seems to be too high even for an oil change. Between my poor German and their poor English, I picked up a number like 150 Euros for oil change.

Now to the easier question, I want to get oil change done by a local mechanic who can work on American cars. What oil weight should I use for the 2009 Honda Civic LX? I like full synthetic oil because I have seen the performance with gas mileage is significantly better with full synthetic.

I would also like to buy door guards and bumper guards for this car. Could someone recommend good protection devices to minimize external body damage? The European parking lots are small and easy to get dings on the car.
