clutch squeak
Is the squeak from under the hood or under the dash in the clutch pedal area? Do you have a hydraulic clutch system ('92 and later models) or a cable?
Squeaking from inside the clutch housing on the transmission means you'd have to pull the transmission out to fix it, but if it's one of the linkage pivot points that you can reach, just apply oil or grease.

When it's the throwout bearing it'll only squeak with the engine running. Most people do a complete clutch job when the throwout bearing is bad because you have to take the transmission out of the car anyway.
ok now i am currious as to what it is on my civic...before thought no big deal an still think it is nothing to worry about, but even if my car is sitting no engine running if you push the clutch in, a small squeak can be heard, but not all the time. it comes from somewere between the tranny and the pedal but outside. it sounds like a spring on a bed that squeaks.i have no problem because my car is loud so noone can hear it, but better to find out what it is
Have someone press the pedal (engine off) while you listen under the hood and locate it exactly. It could be the pivot where the rod from the slave cylinder presses on the lever that goes into the housing. This is under a rubber boot on the housing.
