code 1?
After replacing the engine tranny and alot of other parts, I've put about 600 miles on my 91 civic hatch, and it's been running great. Last night it died on me and I can't get it started. It turns over but doesn't fire. The ECU light is on when I try to start but goes off and stays off. is that code 1? I checked the wiring on the sensor. I noticed a little oil was in the plastic connector, not much, I cleaned it out, and checked the wiring. If the sensor was bad would that cause the car not to start? The fuel pump is working, I haven't checked fuel pressure yet. The distributor is new, and was working fine, starter and alt new too. The were all working great and it just died, no running rough or anything, kind of weird.
I did just wire an electric hook up for a trailer, but got a Hoppy kit and followed the instructions, the lights all work fine, but could that mess up something with starting? Doesn't seem like it would .
Oh and I checked the fuses too, can't find any bad.
Would the fuel pressure regulator cause the car not to start? and happen all of a sudden like that?
Any help or advice, what to look for would be great, I've been going over the book, and just can't figure this out, and I'm supposed to drive it to st. louis Friday night.
Thanks

so once you release the key from the start position the ecu stops blinking? if so double check the ground strap on the thermostat housing. the actuall code one is the o2 sensor and this sensor will not stop your car from running.
The light goes off right away whether I am trying to start the car or not with the key in on postion, and when I release the key it doesn't come back on. So then this would be 0 or faulty ecu? I changed it and it did the same thing. So would that mean I have something messed up in my wiring?
