Code 16 and surge/sputters above 2500 RM 91 DX Hatch with a d15b
I have a 91 DX Hatch that had a engine swap. It has a d15b block with a P07 Vtech-e head. It starts and runs great up to 2500 rpm at which time it starts surge/sputter and won't rev any higher. It has a code 16 in the ECU The ECU is a PM5. I have been trying to find the issue as we need this running for my grandson next month. The forum and google search are conflicted with the issues ranging from being in limp mode, tps or injector issues/ground. I can't seem to find any grounding issues. A couple of other notes. The fuel system was never changed from the Dual Point PGM injection from the original motor. They also are using the same original distributor that only holds on with 1 bolt since holes don't line up. Basically it is a Franken weeny. I am looking for a starting point rather than chasing gremlins that may not help at all. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
