Default coupe to hatchback idea....

ok well my 94coupe i love the motor/tranny setup and all my power options BUT i know you cannt cut a coupe and weld a hatchback on.LOL im not that ghetto.....

SO been looking for around amonth for a hatchback shell. and well i found ONE hatchback shell...... BUT it does look preaty gutted and a rollcage welded in it.....
im definatly not a fan of the rollcage!!!!!
tho might have to see it in person to decide if i want to keep it or cut it out..... tho id have to say right now im 90% wanting ti cut it ALL out!

unfortunatly only one picture of the car so far...

only details listed...
i have a 93 honda hatch it has a 12 point roll cage in it but its welded in it has good glass jdm core support new oem honda parts on the front. the bad it has no fenders or hood and it dont have any suspension on it its just a shell

listed 300bucks or best offer... now i know its gonna be hell to get everything swaped over... BUT i got the space and i got the time to transfere what looks to be preaty much everything.LOL
main reason for the coupe to hatchback is I LOVE MY POWER OPTIONS!!!! power locks, power windows, cruise controls, power mirrors... BLA BLA BLA you know everything but AC but thats just because my civic doesnt have the AC on it or i would swap it as well.

do ya think it sounds like a good plan?
otherwise id have to sell the coupe and buy a hatchback and deal with all the manual parts and very little power... LOL

my worst dreaded thing i would kinda fear is the dash.... cause ive heard it being a real PITA to remove... and since it looks like the rollcage goes right thru it...

BUT with all that said... you think 300bucks is a good deal or should i lowball 150-200bucks for it....

im just waiting for more details and pictures from the guy...

main good thing is he is in reasonable driving distance around 130miles from me but im trying to factor in all the gas and such cause my dads suburban loves gas and with towing his large trailer it realy sucks gas! im guesing like 8mpg with towing... thought about car dolly BUT im not sure whats left on the suspension.... im sure if i could make it towable with a car dolly that would save alot on gas!

but i guess the MAIN thing with buying his hatch shell would be the TITLE... cause i need that 100%!

When this is said and done your gona spend more money then selling your car and buying a much faster one. Plus your only gona save like 200lbs with the hatchback.

To me its not worth it even if it was given to you, it would be way too much of a headache to get all that crap out of the car. There's no glass, no interior...you could find a decent hatch with a blown motor for about $1k

not worth it...although it could make a nice racer...but I don't think you realize how much is involved in transferring parts from one car to the other.

im not trying to save weight... LOL thats why im puting all my power accessories in a hatchback.

and well i know how much work is involved... and to me my TIM is cheaper than $$

ive striped my dads 68impala as far as you can without pulling the main body off... and i also pulled alot of my 66impala apart...
and ive also puttogether a 86crx that had every interior item pulled out besides the dash... and that was hard to do BUT done in one afternoon...
and which is why im more hesitant about the dash......
ive been looking for a hatchback for around amonth now and just cannt find one with a blown motor or theft recovery....

plus ive only got about 500bucks i want to spend for one....

check out www.mautofied.com and post your car for trade or look for a hatch to buy great deals on there.

I say find out what else is included. Ya never know - it might just be a project given up on, has most everything you don't see in the pic, and 'some assembly required' is the rule.

Doesn't hurt to ask.

Good luck - I hope it turns out to be one of those deals where the price is so low because the owner feels bad about having taken everything apart before giving up on it.
