My dad came by to look at my car and try to replace the water pump. He told me he couldnt get the crank pulley off and to make sure it wasnt reverse threaded before we just yank the hell out of it. thanks for the help

lefty loosey righty tighty. no its not reverse thread i think i had mine on and off about 100 times. get a heavy duty impact gun a 17mm and rip it off.

Yeah it can be a real bitch. In my experiences it just popped right off with an electric impact, both times. But I've heard some horror stories of people spending hours trying to pull it

Breakerbar and a big *** cheaterare your best friends if you dont have access to an impact

i dont have acess to an impact wrench or a lift. My car sits too low to put any sort of breaker bar on it

yahm i couldnt even get it off with an impact wrench, atleast ur engine is in the car, mine was out, i had to use a half inch breaker bar, with a 8 ft peice of pipe over it, then i just had to bounce the rod and it loosened it eventually. that is after i sheared a 1/2 to 3/8 converter in half.

lol, those converters suck, I busted one off in my tranny drain plug[:@]

yah, but gotta love craftsman, just went into sears, got a new one for free, and then bought a half inch 17 mm socket

They make a tool to hold the crankshaft, it makes the job easy.I got mine off a tool truck.

yea i think moroso makes it.i have one but not too usefullsince i havehave unorthadox pulleys..fortunatly i have access to a local garage whenever i need it. but good luck and get that sucker off.
