i have dc ceramic coated exhaust header, aem cold air intake, and greddy evo2 exhaust on a 98 civic ex coupe. it is deafening. crazy loud on the interstate. i wanted to know if there is anything i can do to quiet it down. people have suggested replacing the muffler... if so, what should i get. the noise is killer. insanely loud. any suggestions would be helpful. thanks in advance.

 

is the exhaust a catback? do you have a cat? if it is and you do, and its still too loud for you, get a longer/bigger resonator? maybe throw a stock muffler on there, maybe go the twinloop route...there is a lot of things you can do. try searching.

the previous owner said he rodded out the cat. should i just buy a stock replacement or do they make one that will silence this setup? i looked at the existing cat and it looks like it just unbolts. i plan on messing with it this weekend if i can get the cat by then. thanks in advance for your advice.

 

Try this - glasspackby dynomax, a.k.a "bullet muffler"
Actually all cars have bullet muffler before the real muffler, but this one is glasspack, similar to those of the motorbikes, but for cars.
Friend of mine has this glasspack before his straight through muffler and sounds awesome. He has turbo though.

So, do you have something before the actual muffler?

 

A friend of mine had a hi-flow cat and it just got really loud and raspy. He then put on the stock one and made it more of a "tone" still kinda loud but sounded good at least.
