i put my exhaust on last week and now it sounds like a damn race car NO JOKE. i am the loudest car in the entire city of gainesville,fl also i have headers on it to. the 97 civic lx had the catalitic converter on the stock headers. what can i do so it wont be so loud. because i know if i keep it on i will start to get tickets left and right.

 

you can buy a silencer. It fits inside the muffler tip to quiet the sound.

it already has the silencer and sounds the same. i got my exhaust at a realy good muffler shop. but i intend on buying the N1 greddy cat-back. i just didn't have $500 bucks on me at the time. it's straight pipe from headers back. it's VERY ****ING LOUD.

 

Maybe it's because you have headers (plural) on there when you are only supposed to have one.

Sorry, just giving you a hard time. I could move to Gainsville and you wouldn't have the loudest anymore, but I'm a Tiger fan through and through. LSU, baby!!! My exhaust makes me laugh because I can see people shaking their heads behind me... I'm so rice.

 

maybe put a smaller muffler on?

 

have the muffler shop put in a cat and a resonator.

 

you should have know what you were getting in to when you were ordering up a straight pipe, but yea, get a resonator, and a bigger muffler.

 

i didn't know it was going to be a straight pipe until i got to my house. that's when i looked under my car. a resonator will make the car not so loud. wont a bigger muffler make it louder??

 

it depends on the style of muffler. go with a resonator, and does it have a cat? if not, add one.
