Default Creaking clutch EM2 2001 Coupe

Hi guys and girls, everytime a depress the clutch on my '01 EM2 Coupe it makes a creaking noise. I know it's not the sping on the pedal in the car, but seems to be coming from the spring on top of the gearbox. Is there an easy way to get at it or am I going to have to remove the airbox to grease it?

It's likely just the pressure plate on the clutch assembly making the noise. It's very common. How many miles are on your clutch? As long as everything still feels fine, it's probably not a big deal other than just the annoying noise.

Car has 92000 miles on it, I've had it since 63000 and not changed the clutch.

It could also be from lack of grease on the clutch wear points. I found after awhile mine did that too and when I changed my clutch, the fork was pretty dry and un-lubed. Since I also replaced the pressure plate, I couldn't isolate what the cause was but the noise hasn't come back.

I think the only wear point you might be able to get to without removal of the transmission is the slave cylinder to fork point.
