I've got a 02 Civic EX that I drive to school about 45 miles each way. Early in the morning everything works fine. On the way home in the afternoon the cruise control will cut out. It will work fine for awhile at 70-75mph then all of a sudden just stops working or seems to lose speed then quits. I have to turn off then back on the main cruise switch before I can set it again. Doesn't seem to matter if the A/C is on or whatever. Of course it is hotter that time of day. Only major work recently was a clutch replacement bout 6 months ago (threw a driven disc spring).
Any ideas or suggestions appreciated.

Got the same problem... it seems to work fine in the morning, then when ready to take off from work in the afternoon it does not work. nothing has been changed to the car, just a wheel bearing in past month. Also, here we got hot weather...

When the cruise control stops working, does the light on the main cruise control button turn off? In other words, does the system just turn off?

The light on the cruise control button stays on. It just quits working. Will not respond to "set" or "resume" buttons unless I turn off the main switch and then back on again.

 

well, the main switch light works fine i think, it comes on and off when i press on it. the steering wheel buttons seems not to work. i can not set the system. however, there are times, specially mornign that everything works fine. it does not matter if i shut off the the car, main switch, it does not work. Any ideas? thanks a lot!

 

there are no cel on. never has come on. the main cruise light switch is on, never off by itself.
