i have a 1988 crx si i was wondering what would be a good engine swap that would bolt up and be relitivily easy to do? any suggestions

around 2000 and something better than i have now.would a vtec motor be an option

Yes, but it involves some extra wiring. Nothing too serious though. I would look into a B16A1 for a solid combination of buildability/price/simplicity. For $2k, you could do the swap and add a few things to it as well.

Yeah I would do what Kappa said. The b16 seems to be a great motor and you would like it alot more than the motor you got now.

also there is the zc! itz a 1.6 dohc non-vtec it puts out like 130hp you can get the motors really cheap and they can run really well. it would be alot eaier for one of them.

or keep sportin the d. get a used d16z6 it is sohc vtec. you don't need a mount kit or a trans, because you use the ones in your car. a zc is another good alternative but parts are harder to find because it was never offered in a USDM car.

i have a friend that has a 1995 accord with a 2.2 sohc vtec he wants to get rid of the motor would that work?
