D16Y7 Engine Help Needed
i have a 1996 civic EX with the D16Y7 engine in it....this morning a friend and myself were tinkering with the civic trying to see why it was missing....possibly out of time...well while it was idling...he pulls out the ignition wire boot closest to the timing belt....and it smoothed out...well after he put it back on still running it stopped running and as yet to start again.....any info will help
By pulling the plug wire, you probably blew the coil in the distributor. This type of problem has been reported multiple time on this forum.
When the start problem is fixed, check the ignition timing. If it can't be adjusted properly, check whether the timing belt skipped a tooth.

dito. probably blew the coil.... happened to my friend after checking his compresion we didnt pull the spark plug wires off the distributor and we asume that the spark plug wire spark jumped to some bare metal frying the coil.
